The Turnhout Collectors set was produced by Aurelia Books in Brussels c. 1974. The set is a limited edition of 2000 but the cards themselves were made in much greater numbers. The set features a custom wooden box, trilingual booklet and two paper wrapped decks made by Van Genechten in the 1930s. The Great Mogul included in the set is a deck that was made to be sold in India as a Temple offering, so it has an older style and rougher paper than cards that were made in the 1930s for play. Included in the set with the Great Mogul is a Four Colours deck made for sale in Indonesia. 1976 was the 150th anniversary of Brepols printing their first playing cards. 1979 marked 600 years since the first mention of playing cards in Turnhout history. This set was assembled to commemorate both events.
