From the leaflet: "This deck illustrates the collective nouns of various species of animal, also known as 'terms of venery'. Many of these terms came from the language used in hunting. Frequently there are multiple collective nouns associated with a particular species. I have taken the liberty of choosing the term which lent itself best to an illustration; other collective nouns may have been more commonly used" Semi-transformation deck. The court cards and jokers each have their own theme, jacks are "A Train of Jackdaws", queens are "A Flight of Butterflies", kinks are "A Crown of Kingfishers" and the jokers are "A Cackle of Hyenas. The aces and number cards each portray a specific species.
