Description

This deck represents the history of American playing card collecting in Spain. It was created as a commemorative deck for BEEBICYCLE, the only Spanish-language forum dedicated exclusively to the collecting of designer playing cards, and especially to the Made in USA deck, without losing sight of the tradition and enormous importance of the Spanish deck in the history of playing cards. In 2015, the forum became REINA DE OROS, a national and international reference in playing card collecting in Spain. Printed in 2014 by a printer that was just starting out and almost unknown at the time, Make Playing Cards, the back design is based on Mauger's Quadruplicate deck, from the year 1876. The faces are standard MPC faces. The tuck case is made of cut vinyl. There are only 6 decks made exclusively for the first members of the forum, which was the seed of a much larger community at a time when the playing card market was much healthier and more democratic. Unfortunately, the greed of producers with the release of endless editions, recolors, "super limited" editions of dozens of thousands of units, and artificially created exclusivity, along with import regulations and high fees, taxes, and shipping costs, have progressively suffocated this community to the point of practically exterminating it. Fortunately, the Reina de Oros forum is still active, with passionate collectors who aim to keep alive the essence of that past collecting, with decks of great quality, design, affordable and universally available.
