Description

Hochman tells us: "US1 TIGERS #101, R&M, 1881. Tigers #101 was their first brand. It was the least expensive deck presented as part of their opening line and had a generic R&M Ace of Spades (one without the brand name). A tiger head in a circle with the suit signs in smaller circles, printed in red and black, adorned the joker. Tigers #101 were produced until about 1930 and five different Aces and three Jokers were used." This pictures above appear to be a slip case and this deck was probably printed between 1882 to 1885 as Hochman dates the AoS as being used from 1881 to 1885 and Hochman also states: "After a year or two the company started to sell their decks in attractive tuck boxes or slipcases printed with the name and number of the deck and artwork appropriate to the brand." This deck was most generously gifted to me by Jackson Robinson whose KWP Tiger decks are well known
