This is a double-deck set featuring the iconic mascots of Black & White Blended Scotch Whisky: a black Scottish Terrier and a white West Highland White Terrier (Westie).
The copyright mark on the back of the double box reads ©1974, Heublein, Inc., Hartford, Conn. During that era, Heublein was the primary U.S. importer and distributor for Black & White Whisky, and promotional playing card sets like this were standard marketing giveaways or bridge-set mail-ins for brand loyalists.
The two card backs are designed in inverted color schemes—one with a solid black field and white illustration, and the other with a solid white field and black illustration. The Joker features a classic art-deco style court jester with a spade/heart/club/diamond pattern across the costume, flanked by "Plastic Coated" lettering.
