This is a classic souvenir double deck (or bridge set) highlighting one of Italy’s most famous literary landmarks: Casa di Giulietta (Juliet’s House) in Verona.
The card backs feature the iconic gothic balcony with complementary light and dark background colors—a staple for bridge and dual-deck card games so players can easily keep the two decks separated during play. Interestingly, while the house itself dates back to the 14th century (originally belonging to the Cappello family), the famous balcony pictured on the cards wasn't actually built in the Middle Ages. It was installed in 1939 by museum director Antonio Avena, who fashioned it out of a medieval marble sarcophagus to lean into the city's connection to Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.
The Ace of Spades shows a stylized "JK" monogram embedded inside the spade pip, framed by intricate ornamental scrolling with birds and foliage, and anchored by "TRADE MARK" at the bottom. This layout is typical of European card printers producing custom souvenir decks for tourist gift shops, likely dating from the mid-to-late 20th century.
