Outstanding original watercolours by L. Palao about the colonization by Spain of Central & South America. Made by Viuda E Hjos de H. Fournier, Vitoria. Presented at the Iberian-American Exhibition in Seville, 1929. This is a facsimile of the deck created in 1929, reproduced to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Ibero Americana Exposition (Seville & Barcelona), the first World Fair in Spain. Suits & Figures Gold Escudos - Christopher Columbus - his first voyage 1492. Figures: Fernando V; Cortes : Pinzon Drinking Glasses - of the time, preserved in different museums. Figures: Carlos I; Pizarro; Mendoza Swords - Figures: Felipe II; Legazpi; Magallanes Clubs - Figures: King Montezuma; Atahualpa; Caonabo Reverse: Coat of Arms of Spain in the time of Charles I, with the golden fleece.
