Lithographer and printer Bernhard Dondorf founded the B. Dondorf company on April 2, 1833 as printing and trading company in Frankfurt, Germany. He specialized in high-quality print products. From 1839 they mainly focused on the production of playing cards. With this revived and redesigned deck from the late 19th century Daniel Schneider wanted to honor these almost forgotten art pieces. This is a Prototype deck. It can be distinguished from the final in 1 primary way. This prototype has a standard tuck box. The production version will have a Air Cushioned Finish on the outside of the tuck. In addition, the prototype edition was printed by MPC even though the tuck says USPCC.
