The humble acorn is a fascinating object. The seed of the oak tree, the acorn has been used as a symbol in many cultures for thousands of years to represent life, potential, strength, fertility, and even immortality. Acorns have been included as design elements in historical decks of cards, and even appear on the cover of one of the most famed books on sleight-of-hand: The Expert at the Card Table. Oaknut playing cards made their debut in 2021 as an ultra-limited 2-deck Collector's Set, which quickly sold out. We've had many requests for reprints of this delightful piece of art. The Green Oaknut deck uses Anna Lukavska's fantastic design in a brand new colorway that will be a gorgeous addition to any collection. When creating this design, we knew the acorn (aka the Oaknut) was the perfect symbol to use as the basis for the deck. The backs have a classically-styled design with a modern flair. The vibrant green backs give the deck terrific vitality. The Oaknut faces are customized while remaining playable and familiar. The face borders, enlarged index corners, and deep earth tones give the deck an elegance that makes Oaknut a great choice for any game or magic trick. The Aces feature enlarged center pips, and two custom Jokers are included. You also receive two gaff cards for magic tricks. The deck is printed with Penguin Magic's exclusive UltraLux™ Finish and AquaFlow™ Coating. This combination of casino-grade European card stock and water-based coating makes the deck handle like an absolute dream. The cards are traditionally cut with smooth edges that provide just the right amount of grip. These cards are soft enough to get to work straight out of the box, but durable enough to meet the needs of a full-time magician, cardist, or card sharp. The tuck box is one of the most beautiful we've ever produced. Crafted from high-quality green paper, the tuck is stamped inside & out with gold foil, with white foil highlights on the front. The front logo is embossed to provide an elegant texture. The finely detailed linework is impeccable and shows that you mean business at the card table. The entire package is topped off with a gold foil sticker seal, individually numbered out of 500.
