This project by Omega Playing Cards is described as "a confession... we are lying cheats, and this deck of cards will prove us to be so." The cards are poker-sized (56 cards per deck) on Japanese linen black core 310gsm card stock, featuring a custom shuffled design and printed by KSPCC (Kingstar). Deck Specifics: The TRUTH Edition - Kickstarter Exclusive
The TRUTH Edition is described as "a lie in itself." The outer sleeve says it is a deck of 52 TRUTHS, while it is a deck of "lying shuffled cheating deck of cards." The number 52 on the front of the tuck is made up of knives, symbolizing deceit. The back features the symbol of scales of justice, with "Liberte, egalite, fraternity" enshrouding them, but this is stated to be "a complete lie." The inner tuck shows a "pant lit on fire," referencing "Liar, liar, pants on fire!"
Contrasting messages appear on the outer sleeve and inner tuck: "The customer is always right" (outer) vs. "Caveat Emptor" (inner), and "a deck of honest playing cards" (outer) vs. "a deck of lying playing cards" (inner). The inner tuck box flap features the quote from Pablo Picasso, "Good artists copy, great artists steal." The inside of the tucks features a long list of synonyms for lies in holographic red foil.
The cards themselves are "shuffled mad," with corner pips and numbers not matching the central pip counts or court cards. The card back is a unique, symmetrical design. Though described as "lying cheats," the cards fan beautifully and are holographically gilded with a special square pattern, creating the shape of sharp knife blades when fanned.
This edition is a Kickstarter Exclusive, with each deck numbered at the bottom. The total number will be based on pledges made during the campaign.
