French made deck by the famed B.P. Grimaud company. “Unie Glacee” translates roughly into smooth finish. Extensive AI research states deck was produced anywhere from 1920-1945. This is concluded due to the deck having one joker, classic court card and standard card printing design, and printed details on the Ace of Clubs such as: a printed circle with a sideways bust of Marianne, and the inscription of “Decrey Du 12 Avril 1920”, which was mandated by French law to be included to show taxes were paid by the manufacturer. This printed stamp was used from 1920 to 1945, corresponding with the end of World War II and tax law changes.
