Three years ago, I launched my very first deck of playing cards — Epiphyllum.
It was the first collaboration between me and illustrator Chengcheng.
Now, we are bringing you its second generation. The theme this time is Love and Pain.
Since ancient times, people have always used flowers to express love, but Epiphyllum is a flower that only blooms at night.
Its bloom is extremely short, yet breathtakingly beautiful. There is a Chinese idiom, “a flash in the pan” (昙花一现), describing something brief but brilliant.
In life or in relationships, we often meet someone —as fleeting as the Epiphyllum, yet so beautiful that we cannot look away. Just like fireworks. That is perhaps the beauty of this flower. I wanted to capture this feeling and emotion.
