A collectible 54-card deck of playing cards (including 2 jokers) custom-illustrated by Russian artist Aleksey Orleansky. The deck features distinct characters and court cards intricately painted in the traditional style of Russian Palekh miniature lacquer painting and religious icon art. The figures are depicted wearing highly detailed, pre-Peter the Great garments reminiscent of mid-17th-century Russian ceremonial costumes. This self-published edition by the artist was printed in 2001 at the famous Kombinat Tsvetnoy Pechati (KPP / Colored Printing Plant) in St. Petersburg, Russia, utilizing professional German cardstock from Koehler.
