Once a year, the Paintress wakes and paints her number, and everyone who has reached it is lost to the Gommage. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 built one of the most striking worlds in years from that single, unbearable rule, and the Clair Edition carries its light.
It starts with the tuck box: a soft white/ivory finish wrapped in gold-foil line work, all Art Deco geometry drawn from the world of Lumière, with the Expedition 33 wordmark, Paintress icon and a central emblem picked out in gold.
Inside, the deck is fully custom. Every court card, ace and joker is an original illustration: Verso takes the Kings, appearing in a different outfit for each suit, while Maelle holds the Queens across the same four looks. The party fills the Jacks with Gustave, Monoco, Lune and Sciel; the Aces go to the Paintress, Renoir, the Siren and the Visages; and Esquie and Simon round things out as the Jokers.
The Clair Edition and the Obscur Edition share the same characters. They are variants designed to be collected, so pick up the pair to hold both halves of Expedition 33 side by side.
