Prior to this movement, mediums such as painting and sculpture were viewed as superior to other forms of expression such as illustration, design, and even architecture. Once the Art Nouveau movement was realized, this mentality was quickly debated by the artists and art critics of the time which resulted in some of the most influential work of the past century. Those artists such as Alphonse Mucha, Gustav Klimt, Otto Wagner, and Koloman Moser perfected their style through hard work and dedication. The resulting work reflected this devotion to the craft and birthed an era of beauty through the fusion of art and nature. Today, we have entered a similar phase in which the quick way is considered as the best way. We have all but forgotten those lessons that the pioneers of the Art Nouveau movement had showed us. In art, there are no shortcuts and no quick solutions for an artist to truly convey their message. I have adopted this philosophy within my own work. I feel that there are no shortcuts to producing true Art Nouveau. I have chosen to take on this project and produce a unique tarot deck that will incorporate the Art Nouveau philosophy. It is my passion to create product that I will be proud of for years to come. Every line, every color application, and every sketch that has gone into this project is by hand. I have dedicated myself to the final touch of this project by the inclusion of illuminated gold foil on each card. I hope that, with your help, this campaign will become a reality. I am dedicated to this project and its completion!
