Wonderland (V2)

Hello again everyone! My previous pair of decks based upon "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" and "Alice's Adventures Through the Looking-Glass" were more popular (in sales) than I had anticipated, so I have created a new pair of decks. These are now under the new label of fig. 23 and have the attribute essential to fig. 23 playing cards - flip-book style animation. After having several more designs of decks under my belt since the previous pair, I believe the overall new designs are greatly improved as well. 1000 of each deck is going to made by USPCC, hopefully to be finished in early December in time for the holidays - fingers crossed USPCC won't have to momentarily close-down again due to COVID-19, and even more importantly I hope all of their workers stay safe and free of the pandemic. I am very grateful for their efforts during these difficult times. And of course the deck will be American Poker in size, nicely boxed and cellophane-wrapped with a standard black USPCC seal. When I had created the previous pair of decks, I created my own pips and was planning on using them on all of my future decks. Designing with those original pips became compositionally awkward and also a bit limiting creatively. With this redesign, I decided to go to the source of my inspiration and base the pips on Sir John Tenniel's illustrations and found his pips to be more modern-looking than I had remembered them to be. I kept to the basic shapes he had made but added a few digital enhancements such as rounded corners. An attention to the Scottish Art Nouveau and Craftsman Styles was utilized as well.
